Will Bush Bring the Party With Him?

WASHINGTON – George W. Bush has set the modern presidential record for stratospheric approval ratings – only Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman had longer runs of nearly universal public support. The politics of the coming year will be determined by the durability and the breadth of these ratings as the midterm elections approach.
